About the Friends

The Friends of the Bridgewater Public Library is an independently incorporated, tax-exempt organization. The purpose of the Friends is to act in cooperation with the Library Director and the Board of Library Trustees to enhance public library services by:

  • raising funds to provide materials and programs not covered in the Library’s operating budget;
    establishing closer relationships between the Library and the people it serves; and
  • recruiting volunteers to provide services, such as home delivery, as requested by the Library.

The Friends sponsor the Library’s monthly newsletter, “In the Know.”

Dues of the members are a major source of income for the Friends as are our many fundraising events throughout the year.

Used book sales are held one Saturday every couple of months in the lower level of the Library.
